Dedicated and donated by the artist to the veterans of the first floor Community Living Center, Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC on Veteran's Day, November 11th 2015.
In "Freedom’s Price Is Paid," I pay homage to the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of the military veterans I have had the privilege of caring for over the years through a series of powerful photographic portraits that focus on their hands. These hands, weathered by time and marked by their experiences, tell stories of service, resilience, and commitment.
Each image in this collection captures the unique character and strength of veterans' hands, which have played a vital role in defending our freedom. The hands that once held rifles, cared for wounded comrades, and raised flags now convey the profound legacy of service and duty.
Through this project, I hope to honor our veterans, remind the world of their sacrifices, and celebrate the enduring spirit that resides in every veteran's hands. These portraits serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication and inspire a deep sense of gratitude and respect for those who have served our nation. "Freedom’s Price Is Paid" is a visual tribute to these brave individuals who have given so much for our country.
